In 1998 Alan, with his head chef Fai, opened the doors for the first time on the Mandarin Restaurant. What used to be a 24 hour cafe turned into a stylish Chinese restaurant.
The restaurant seated 80 people and over time had to expanded and now seats up to 130 over two floors.
Both the ground floor and first floor restaurant areas have been recently renovated to a high standard.
Fai the head chef has over 40 years experience in the restaurant trade. Originally trained in Hong Kong. Specialising in sea food he has worked in many restaurants and has perfected the dishes to customers requirements.
Second chef Frankie is our specialist Dim Sum chef. With many years in the restaurant trade.
The Mandarin Dim Sum menu is well known and very popular with the Chinese customers.
We recommend that for Sundays you book your table early as it gets very busy.
We can cater for private parties and wedding, and have hosted many over the years.

The chefs are well known for creating the special wedding banquet with the authentic dishes of China.
We have had many party bookings, from the very large to the small intimate celebrations. All are catered for with the same care and attention to detail that the customer expects.

The first floor restaurant area is a cosier and smaller then the ground floor. And being separate to the main restaurant noise is not a concern.
We can open a second door for the first floor so that the diners on the ground floor do not get disturbed.
The first floor is also fitted with a karaoke machine.
The over head projector is very useful for business working lunches and meetings, and with specially selected menus we can cater for every budget, keeping your accountant happy.
